Vernon Vipers forward Jimmy Lambert has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 10, the league announced Monday.
Lambert had a five-point night, including the tying and winning goals in the third period, in a 6-5 Vipers home win Sunday. The product of Saskatoon had already assisted on three Vipers goals going into the third period when they fell behind by a goal to Salmon Arm. Lambert tied the game with a shorthanded effort and then got the winner just 2:21 later.
His scoring outburst puts him atop the BCHL scoring leaders after opening weekend. He is committed to NCAA Div. I University of Alaska-Fairbanks for next season.
