The Langley Chiefs are pleased to announce that team captain and fourth-year forward Mac Roy has committed to attend the University of Alabama-Huntsville in the fall of 2010.
Mac has been a consistent scorer for the Chiefs the past three years and has elevated his play this season to earn top line minutes and play in every situation. He has scored 19 goals and 40 points in 42 games this season, and has totalled 153 points in 208 British Columbia Hockey League games.
“We knew it was just a matter of time for Mac,” Chiefs head coach and general manager Harvey Smyl noted. “He has shown for the last four years that he can play at this level and will succeed at the next level as well.”
Mac joins Colten Beck, Tim Daly, Jordan Sims and Brad McBride as other Chiefs players who will be playing Division 1 NCAA hockey in the near future.
On behalf of the entire Langley Chiefs organization, we would like to congratulate Mac Roy on this accomplishment. For any comments or questions, please feel free to contact Jared Harman at the Langley Chiefs office.
