LeBrun headed to UBC

JLeBrunA final BCHL season that ended up with a national championship has just gotten a bit sweeter for West Kelowna Warriors forward Jake LeBrun.

The Prince George native has committed to play for the UBC Thunderbirds next season.

LeBrun was acquired by the Warriors in January for their drive to the postseason and provided a veteran presence and some timely scoring. The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder scored four goals and six assists in helping the Warriors to the Fred Page Cup BCHL title. His experience proved useful again as the Warriors claimed the Western Canada Cup and the RBC Cup national championship.

The 20-year-old started the season with the Prince George Spruce Kings where he was team captain. For his BCHL career, LeBrun suited up for 172 games and 164 of those were with P.G.

At UBC, LeBrun joins a T-Birds team that competes in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) Canada West division against Calgary, Manitoba, Regina, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Lethbridge and Mount Royal.

Other former BCHL players on the UBC roster include David Robinson, Justin Georgeson, Adam Rossignol and Khaleed Devji.
