Sherwood Park Crusaders forwards Jeremy Loranger and Kale Dach and Brooks Bandits goaltender Zach Zahara have been named the NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week.
1st Star – Jeremy Loranger (F) – Sherwood Park Crusaders
Loranger averaged a whopping three points per game over a trio of contests last week, finishing with five goals and four assists.
The 2025 NHL Draft prospect notched a pair of goals on Wednesday night in Sherwood Park’s 4-3 loss to the Okotoks Oilers, then had a goal and two helpers on Friday night in his team’s 7-4 loss to the Trail Smoke Eaters. Loranger closed out his week with another multi-point performance on Saturday, this time with two goals and two assists in a 6-3 win over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
The 2007-born forward continues to lead the BCHL in scoring with 75 points in 40 games. His 30 goals are also tied for tops in the league. He is currently on a six-game point streak with 16 points over that stretch.
2nd Star – Kale Dach (F) – Sherwood Park Crusaders
Dach piled up seven points in three games last week, including a league-best six assists.
The 17-year-old from Fort Saskatchewan, Alta. started his week with a pair of helpers in a midweek loss to the Okotoks Oilers before picking up another two points with a goal and an assist on Friday in a defeat at the hands of the Trail Smoke Eaters. On Saturday, Dach collected a trio of helpers in the Crusaders road win over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, the sixth time this season he has totaled at least three points in a game.
The Penn State University commit is currently riding a five-game point streak and has multiple points in all five contests. He is the league’s second-leading scorer with 63 points in 40 games and has the most assists with 50.
3rd Star – Zach Zahara (G) – Brooks Bandits
Zahara won both of his starts last week, stopping 52 of 54 shots against for a save percentage of .963 and a goals-against average of 1.00.
The 2005-born netminder started on Friday night in a road matchup with the Spruce Grove Saints where he allowed one goal on 29 shots, including 19 in the second period alone, as the Bandits were outshot by the opposition, but still won 4-1. His strong play earned him a second straight start on Saturday back at home against the Blackfalds Bulldogs and Zahara allowed just one goal again, making 24 stops in a 3-1 victory.
In seven appearances since joining the Bandits in January, the Rockyview, Alta. product has a 4-3-0 record with a .906 save percentage and a 2.73 goals-against average.
