The final tour of the BCHL was by far the best for Trail Smoke Eaters defenceman Jeremy Lucchini and it’s landed him a university hockey future at York University.
Lucchini will suit up for the Lions in the coming USports season after posting career highs with five goals and 35 assists for 40 points while playing all 58 games on the blueline.
For his four-year Junior career, Lucchini registered nine goals and 67 assists for 76 points in 175 games. He added two goals and 15 assists in 26 BCHL postseason games.
At York, Lucchini will join a Lions program that competes in USports’ OUA West Division along with Toronto, Windsor, Lakehead, Brock, Guelph, Ryerson, Waterloo, Laurier and Western.
Lucchini is the first BCHL player from this past season to commit to York but the Lions had a pair of BCHL alums on the roster in 2017-18 in Ben Verrall and Keelan Williams.
