West Kelowna Warriors forward Jared Marino has committed to play for the Colgate University Raiders in the 2018-19 season.

Marino has played 156 regular-season games over three seasons in the BCHL, but this year he had by far his best offensive output, totaling 21 goals and 32 assists for 53 points in 57 games. The 1997-born forward from Niagara Falls, Ont. was a part of the Warriors 2015-16 team that won the Fred Page Cup as well as the RBC Cup.

Colgate plays in the ECAC Hockey conference along with Brown, Clarkson, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, Quinnipiac, Rensselaer, St. Lawrence, Union and Yale.

The Raiders’ season ended in early March when they lost to Clarkson in the quarterfinals of the ECAC tournament.

Colgate’s 2017-18 roster featured a number of former BCHLers, including Paul Meyer, Ken Citron, Paul McAvoy, Henry Marshall and Trevor Cosgrove.

Surrey Eagles forward Jeff Stewart will join Marino at Colgate next year, while Prince George Spruce Kings defenceman Liam Watson-Brown is committed to the Raiders for the 2019-20 season.
