ECAC Hockey Forward of the Week

Brandon Buhr – Junior – Union College (Alberni Valley Bulldogs)

Buhr accumulated four points last weekend, including a hat trick on Saturday at Cornell. He also picked up an assist the night before in a 2-2 tie against Colgate. Buhr now has two hat tricks since Jan. 1.

The 2002-born forward played parts of three seasons with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs, piling up over a point per game with 94 points in 91 contests on 49 goals and 45 assists.

ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week

Aaron Schwartz (F) – Freshman – Quinnipiac University (Surrey Eagles)

Schwartz finished last week with one goal and three assists in a pair of home games against St. Lawrence and Clarkson. The Parkland, Fla. native is currently tied for the most points in the conference amongst rookies with 24.

Schwartz enjoyed two highly successful years with the Surrey Eagles from 2022 to 2024. After putting up over a point per game in his rookie campaign, Schwartz was the league’s second leading scorer in 2023-24, finishing with 81 points in 51 contests and was named a First-Team All-Star. He put up another 20 points in 24 postseason contests and helped guide the Eagles to the Fred Page Cup championship.

Big Ten 2nd Star of the Week

Logan Terness (G) – Senior – Ohio State University (Trail Smoke Eaters)

Terness made 68 saves on 70 shots in leading Ohio State to a pair of come-from-behind wins at Notre Dame last week by identical 5-1 scores. He allowed just one power-play goal in a 28-save effort last Friday, while picking up his first career assist. He made 41 saves the next night, completing the Buckeye’s weekend sweep with a .971 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average.

Terness played two seasons with the Trail Smoke Eaters from 2019 to 2021. In his first year in the league, he posted a 27-10-4 record with a .932 save percentage, good enough for third best in the BCHL. He was voted as the league’s Rookie of the Year at the conclusion of the season.

Atlantic Hockey Defenceman of the Week

Nick Bochen – Graduate – Bentley University (Prince George Spruce Kings)

Bochen tallied five points on a goal and four assists in three games last week. He started the week by picking up an assist in Tuesday’s 5-2 win over Army, then on Friday with the scored tied 0-0 late in the game, Bochen had the primary assist on the game-winning goal. He would then collect three points, all in the second period, in Saturday’s victory. It was his second three-point game of the season.

Bochen was a high-scoring blueliner with the Prince George Spruce Kings in his two seasons in the league from 2018 to 2020. He led the team in scoring from the back end both years, totaling 72 points in 106 career regular season games. He was also a key part of the Spruce Kings championship team in 2019.

Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week

Jack Ivey (F) – Freshman – Army West Point (Wenatchee Wild)

Ivey collected five points on two goals and three assists over the weekend to help the Black Knights grab five points vs. Sacred Heart. He picked up assists on both of Army’s goals in Friday’s contest. Ivey was also lethal on the power play the following day, as he potted back-to-back power-play goals in the second period. He eventually picked up a helper on an empty-netter to wrap up a big win. The San Diego, Calif. native now boasts eight goals to go along with 11 assists for 19 points on the season.

The 2004-born forward played one BCHL season with the Wenatchee Wild in 2021-22, alongside his twin brother Benjamin, who also plays for Army this year. Jack collected eight points in 47 games during his lone season in the league.

Hockey East Rookie of the Week

Hunter Wallace (F) – Freshman – Merrimack College (Brooks Bandits)

Wallace scored his first two career collegiate goals in just his third career NCAA game in a 5-4 win at New Hampshire last Saturday night. Both goals knotted up the game for the Warriors.

The 2003-born forward played three seasons for the Brooks Bandits, one of which was in the BCHL in 2023-24. During his BCHL campaign, he totaled 13 goals, 10 assists and 23 points in 20 regular season games, before posting nine points in 12 postseason contests on the road to capturing the Alberta Cup.
