Newhook earns BCHLPOW honours

Victoria Grizzlies forward Alex Newhook has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 24, the league announced Monday.

Newhook picked up six assists in two games at the Bauer BCHL Showcase, helping the Grizzlies to two wins. The product of St. John’s, N.L. drew three assists, including on the winner, in a 5-0 victory over Prince George and followed the same scoring line the next game in a 4-2 triumph over Coquitlam.

The 16-year-old Newhook now leads the Grizzlies with 10 points in six games. He is committed to Boston College for the 2019-20 season.
