The Penticton Vees continued to have the Vernon Vipers' number this season, rebounding from a third period deficit on home ice to defeat the Interior Conference leaders in overtime on Saturday evening.Jonathan Milhouse opened the scoring for the Vipers just four minutes into regulation, converting a Connor Jones feed past Penticton starter Sean Bonar. That lead stood through 40 minutes, before Joey Laleggia evened the game for the home team with the man advantage early in the third.Vernon re-took the lead minutes later, however, as Milhouse scored his second of the night shorthanded. That advantage stood for until the 9:45 mark of the frame, when Garrett Milan tied the game once more. After a scoreless overtime period, Matt Paltridge played hero when he ended the game 3:40 into double OT, beating Vernon starter Graeme Gordon clinch two points for the hosts.Sean Bonar had a big night in net for Penticton, earning first star honours with a 36-save performance that included four stops in overtime. Graeme took the loss with a 22-save effort.The Vees return to the ice on Wednesday, when they host the Nanaimo Clippers, while Vernon is idle until Friday when the Victoria Grizzlies visit.
