Playoff recap – April 3

A goal each period and 16 saves by Aidan Porter was the winning formula for the Vernon Vipers in a 3-0 home victory over the Wenatchee Wild that gives Vernon a 3-1 series lead.

Matt Kowalski’s goal at 8:10 of the first period proved to be all the offensive support Porter would need on the night and Connor Marritt added insurance on the power play in the second.

Rounding out the scoring in the third period was Josh Latta whose unassisted tally was the final mark on the scoresheet.

Porter’s 16 saves earned him his first shutout of the playoffs after posting four in the regular season.

Game 5 of the series is set for Friday at 7:05 p.m. in Wenatchee.
