Langley Rivermen forward Aaron Reierson, Brooks Bandits forward Isaac Johnson and Alberni Valley Bulldogs forward Jacob Terpstra have been named the NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week.

1st Star – Aaron Reierson (F) – Langley Rivermen

Reierson scored five goals in just two games last week, helping the Rivermen to a weekend split.

In Friday’s 5-2 road win over the Surrey Eagles, the 20-year-old forward notched his third hat trick already this season and was named first star of the game. His second period marker gave Langley a 3-1 lead and his goal midway through the third reestablished their two-goal advantage. He sealed things with a shorthanded empty netter for his third of the game. A night later, Reierson opened the scoring with his second shorthanded tally of the weekend, then scored his second of the game early in the middle frame in his team’s 5-4 home loss to the Victoria Grizzlies.

The Moorhead, Minn. native now leads the BCHL with 18 goals in 20 games this season, while his 29 points tie him for third overall, just two back of the lead.

2nd Star – Isaac Johnson (F) – Brooks Bandits

Johnson scored four goals in two games last week, adding an assist for a five-point weekend.

The Bemidji State University commit scored twice on Friday, including once on a shorthanded penalty shot, to guide the Bandits to a 4-2 road win over the Trail Smoke Eaters. He was named first star of the game. The following night, Johnson scored another two markers, including his third power-play goal of the season, and picked up an assist in a 5-2 win in Cranbrook against the Bucks. He earned first star honours for the second game in a row.

Since returning from injury in mid-October, the 2005-born forward has 12 goals, six assists and 18 points in 13 contests.

3rd Star – Jacob Terpstra (F) – Alberni Valley Bulldogs

Terpstra led all players with six points and five assists in Alberni Valley’s two-game road set against the Powell River Kings last weekend.

After collecting an assist on Friday in a 6-2 victory, the third-year Bulldog exploded for five points on Saturday in a 7-2 win. Terpstra had two assists in the first period as Alberni built a three-goal lead, then picked up another helper with the man advantage in the middle frame. In the third, he added a goal and a fourth assist to cap off the scoring.

The University of Alaska-Anchorage commit is now the leading scorer in the BCHL with 31 points in 20 games. His 19 assists are just one back of the league lead, while his 12 goals are tied for sixth.
