The Eagles defeated the Penticton Vees in Game 6 of the BCHL Finals on Sunday to capture their fifth Fred Page Cup championship and first since 2013, while the Bandits captured the first-ever Alberta Cup by defeating the Sherwood Park Crusaders in five games of the Alberta final.

Surrey and Brooks have not met since 2013 when they played each other three times, twice at the Western Canada Cup in Nanaimo, B.C. and once at the national championship tournament in Summerside, P.E.I. Brooks held a 2-1 advantage in those contests.
