Séguin-Lescarbeau, Good, Béland named NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week

Nanaimo Clippers goaltender Eliot Séguin-Lescarbeau, Brooks Bandits forward Jack Good and Clippers forward Charles Béland have been named the NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week.

1st Star – Eliot Séguin-Lescarbeau (G) – Nanaimo Clippers

Séguin-Lescarbeau went 3-0 last week, allowing a combined four goals for a .944 save percentage, a 1.28 goals-against average and one shutout.

In last Monday’s Game 7 win over the Cowichan Valley Capitals, the 2005-born netminder stopped 20 of 22 shots to earn a 3-2 win and help his team advance to the Coastal Conference Finals. On Friday, in the opener of Nanaimo’s Round 3 series with the Prince George Spruce Kings, Séguin-Lescarbeau stopped all 19 shots he faced to earn his first shutout of the postseason in a 4-0 victory. He closed out his week with a 29-save outing in a 3-2 overtime win in Game 2.

Séguin-Lescarbeau owns a 10-4 record in the postseason with a .910 save percentage and a 2.52 goals-against average.

2nd Star – Jack Good (F) – Brooks Bandits

After missing eight games due to injury, Good registered six points in three contests last week on a goal and five assists.

In his first action since Game 2 of the first round, the Merrimack College commit contributed two helpers in the Bandits Game 7 victory over the Sherwood Park Crusaders last Tuesday to advance to the third round. On Friday, in the first game of the Interior Conference Finals, Good scored his first of the postseason and added an assist in a 6-2 victory over the Cranbrook Bucks. A night later, the 20-year-old added another two helpers in the Bandits 5-1 win in Game 2.

Good now has a goal and six assists in five playoff games.

3rd Star – Charles Béland (F) – Nanaimo Clippers

Béland scored four goals in three games last week, leading all players in that category.

The Trois-Rivières, Que. product scored the opening goal in Game 7 on Monday in Nanaimo’s 3-2 victory over the Cowichan Valley Capitals. In Friday’s Coastal Final opener, Béland scored twice, including the game-winner, and was named first star of the game in a 4-0 victory. In Game 2 on Saturday, the 19-year-old tied the game with 1:43 remaining in the third period to force overtime in a 3-2 Clippers win.

Béland’s 11 playoff goals are the most in the BCHL, while his 13 points in 13 games are tied for seventh.
