Chilliwack Chiefs – 5
Nanaimo Clippers – 0

AJ Lacroix and Brady Milburn each had a goal and an assist and Lucas Szyszka stopped 28 shots to earn the shutout as the Chilliwack Chiefs blanked the Nanaimo Clippers 5-0 in Game 6 to win the series and advance to the Coastal Conference Finals. Lacroix scored the game’s first goal on the power play with just over five to go in the opening frame, then Michael La Starza and Mateo Mrsic added on in the second to make it 3-0 Chiefs. Milburn scored with the man advantage 5:50 into the final stanza and Dylan Kinch added on a few minutes later to make it a 5-0 final. Szyszka’s shutout was his first in the postseason and he was named first star of the game. The Chiefs await the winner of the Surrey, Alberni series to see who they play in Round 3.

Alberni Valley Bulldogs – 7
Surrey Eagles – 1

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs came up clutch in their most important game of the year, beating the Surrey Eagles 7-1 in Game 6 to force a seventh and deciding game. As has been the case for the entirety of the series, this was an extremely close game until late in the second period. Aaron Schwartz scored for Surrey in the first, but Dakota MacIntosh’s team-leading eighth of the postseason evened things up before the intermission. The 1-1 score held until the 14:53 mark of the second when the Bulldogs exploded for four goals in less than four minutes to grab a 5-1 lead after two. The offensive outburst included goals by Ethan Bono, Brandon Buhr, Matt Kursonis and Chase Klassen. Alberni kept up the pressure in the third with Kursonis potting his second of the game and Nicholas Beneateau putting the finishing touches on a 7-1 final. Campbell Arnold started in net for the Bulldogs in the absence of Hobie Hedquist and he stopped 23 of 24 shots to get the win. Game 7 is set for Tuesday night in Surrey.
