Salmon Arm Silverbacks defenceman Matt Grassi has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week of Monday, October 13th to Sunday October 19th, the league announced today.
In four games last week, Grassi scored three goals and added five assists. He was named as a game star in on three occasions, including a first star performance against the Quesnel Millionaires on Tuesday, October 14th.
Grassi capped his week with a goal and two assists in Salmon Arm's 5-1 win over the Merritt Centennials.
The Burnaby, British Columbia native also found out last week that he had been named to Team Canada West's roster for the 2008 World Junior A Challenge, which will be held in Camrose, Alberta from November 2nd through 9th.
The Silverbacks won all four of their games last week, moving into a tie for first place in the BC Hockey League's Interior Conference.
