Salmon Arm Silverbacks forward Mark Zengerle has committed to attend the University of Wisconsin for the 2010 season, the club announced Friday.
Mark hails from Rochester, New York and is playing in his first season with the Silverbacks. Zengerle currently leads the team in scoring with 14 goals and 26 assists for 40 points in 21 games.
“This is a great accomplishment for Mark,” Silverbacks head coach Rylan Ferster says. “He is a very gifted player that sees the ice as good as any player I have ever coached.”
“I am very pleased the Silverbacks were a helpful stepping stone for Mark to further his hockey career,” Silverbacks owner Randy Williams says. “Our league is all about education and scholarships. This is a great opportunity for Mark.”
The entire organization would like to congratulate Mark and his family on this great accomplishment.
