Silye commits to future with Clarkson

Nanaimo Clippers forward David Silye has committed to Clarkson University Golden Knights for the 2019-20 season.

The 19-year-old, Vancouver, B.C. native has just completed his second season with the Clippers. In his first season he scored eight goals and 11 assists. Silye followed that up with 10 goals with 32 assists and in the 2017-2018 playoffs he had three goals and one assist.

Clarkson is part of the ECAC Hockey conference and plays in a prestigious division that includes Brown, Colgate, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, Quinnipiac, Rensselaer, St. Lawrence, Union and Yale.

The Golden Knights roster featured six former BCHLers including Connor McCarthy (Chilliwack Chiefs), Nic Pierog (Penticton Vees), Ben Dalpe (Penticton Vees), Sheldon Rempal (Nanaimo Clippers) Jordan Schnieder (Langley Rivermen) and Devin Brosseau (Nanaimo Clippers).

There are also three current BCHL players committed to Clarkson for future seasons, including another Clippers forward in Jamie Collins, Penticton Vees forward Chris Klack and Surrey Eagles forward Jordan Robert.
