Spiridakis named High School Player of the Month

Alberni Valley Bulldogs forward Austin Spiridakis has been named the BCHL High School Player of the Month for February.

This award is for players 18-years-old or younger who are attending high school full time and is based on in-class and on-ice performance.

The 17-year-old picked up six points over the final nine regular-season games for the Bulldogs, including a pair of multi-point efforts in the month as well as a three-game point streak. In his second season in the BCHL, Spiridakis doubled his final goal total from the year before, finishing with 12 tallies on the season.

He’s also been highly productive in the classroom this year, taking online courses at St. Gabriel High School, located in his hometown of St. Albert, Alta.. He’s received 93 per cent in Calculus 12 and 86 per cent in Social Studies. In the current semester, he has 94 per cent in Physics and 90 per cent in English.

Spiridakis is committed to play at Quinnipiac University.
