BCHL scoring leaders Darcy Oakes and Mark Zengerle highlight the Coastal and Interior Conference starting line-ups for the 2009 BCHL All-Star Game to be held Wednesday in Vernon, the league has announced.
Zengerle leads an Interior Conference line-up that includes teammate Conor Morrison starting alongside Quesnel Millionaires representative Trevor Hertz. Manning the blueline are Zach Davies of the Prince George Spruce Kings and Westside Warrior and Anaheim Ducks draft pick Justin Schultz. Prince George's Kevin Genoe will start in goal for Team Interior.
Meanwhile, a trio of Powell River Kings are amongst the Coastal Conference's starting unit. Oakes, who leads all BCHL scorers with 77 points, will skate on a line with 62-point man Clay Harvey while Carsen Chubak will get the start between the pipes. Langley Chiefs forward and Ottawa Senators draft pick Derek Grant will join Oakes and Harvey up front while Victoria's Lee Baldwin and Cowichan Valley's Zack Currie will start on defence.
The Coastal and Interior Conference starters were chosen based on voting from the league's coaches.
Wednesday night's All-Star Game will be held at the Wesbild Centre in Vernon with a Skills Competition being held during intermissions.
