Surrey Eagles tabs Erhart for assistant coaching post

The Surrey Eagles are pleased to announce the hiring of former Eagle Matt Erhart as Assistant Coach and Director of Scouting for the club commencing May 1st, 2009.

Erhart joined the Eagles as a player in 1997 and won the Royal Bank Cup with the team a year later. His hard work and dedication procured him a scholarship to Quinnipiac University from 1999-2003. He served as team captain in his senior year and ranks as one of the top scoring defencemen in school history.

Hailing from Ladner but now residing in White Rock, Erhart was head coach of the Greater Vancouver Canadians in the BC Major Midget League and head coach of the BC Hockey U17 High Performance Program.

Matt will be responsible for player recruitment and development as he embarks on his new position with his old team.

The Eagles would like to welcome Matt's family Kristin and Jack, as well as brand new Eagle supporter Scarlett to the organization.
