Svartström, Dach, Loranger named NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week

Cranbrook Bucks forward Rasmus Svartström and Sherwood Park Crusaders forwards Kale Dach and Jeremy Loranger have been named the NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week, ending Feb. 16.

1st Star – Rasmus Svartström (F) – Cranbrook Bucks

Svartström led all BCHL players with seven points in two games last week, including four goals, which also tied for the league lead.

The Finnish-born forward had a five-point outing on Friday in the Bucks 6-3 road victory over the Brooks Bandits. Svartström recorded his second hat trick of the season to go along with two assists and was named the first star of the game. A night later, with Cranbrook down two in the third period, the St. Lawrence University commit came up clutch with an assist, then the tying goal with under five minutes to play in an evenutal 7-6 overtime win against the Sherwood Park Crusaders.

Svartström continues to lead the league in goals scored with 34 in 40 games, while his 45 points are second on the Bucks.

2nd Star – Kale Dach – Sherwood Park Crusaders

Dach averaged three points per game last week with six in two contests.

On Friday night, the 2007-born forward was held off the scoresheet until 1:13 to play in the third period when scored a power-play goal, then assisted on another tally with 31 seconds left to force overtime against the Spruce Grove Saints. Dach then scored the winner in extra time, giving Sherwood Park the 6-5 win. On Saturday, the 2025 NHL Draft prospect piled up a trio of assists in a 7-6 overtime loss to the Cranbrook Bucks.

Dach’s big weekend gave him seven straight games with multiple points. He is the BCHL leader with 54 assists and second in points with 70 in 43 games.

3rd Star – Jeremy Loranger – Sherwood Park Crusaders

Loranger matched his teammate Dach with a two-goal, four-assist stat line last week, tying for second in points over that stretch.

The Trois-Rivieres, Que. product notched a goal and two assists on Friday in the Crusaders 6-5 comeback win in overtime against the Spruce Grove Saints, including the tying marker with 29 seconds left to force extra time. The following night, he had an identical one-goal, two-assist performance, this time in a 7-6 overtime loss to the Cranbrook Bucks.

Loranger is the BCHL’s leading scorer with 81 points in 43 games. His 32 goals and 49 assists both rank second in the league. He ended his week riding an eight-game point streak with 22 over that span.
