Todd stands tall in Trail net as Smokies take OT win over Langley

Adam Todd stopped 36 shots which allowed his Trail Smoke Eaters to scratch out a 3-2 overitme win over the visiting Langley Rivermen.

Kienan Scott's goal 2:44 into OT was the winner. Langley had opened the scoring in the first on a Gage Torrel marker but Trail equalized in the second on a Charlie Zuccarini goal.

Harlan Orr put Trail ahead early in the second on a power-play goal but the lead lasted just 37 seconds because Dante Hahn scored unassisted to make it 3-3 and set the stage for overtime.

The Nanaimo Clippers fired 59 shots on Prince George's Jesse Jenks and goals by Anthony Rinaldi and Devin Brosseau in the first were enough in a 5-1 win over the visiting Spruce Kings. Brendan Taylor scored his first of two and Edwin Hookenson added on in the second. Brent Lashuk got the lone PG goal on the power play in the third.

Despite conceding the first goal on the power play to Victoria's Jay Mackie, the Penticton Vees replied with a Tyson Jost goal on the man advantage and Liam Finlay's winner in a 2-1 home win over the Grizzlies. Sean Cleary stopped 33 shots for Victoria while Hunter Miska made 25 stops for the win.

Craig Puffer's hat trick goal was the game-winner on the power play in the second and Aidan Pelino made 34 saves in a 6-3 Chilliwack Chiefs home win over the Coquitlam Express. Corey Mackin got Coquitlam on the board in the first but it was already 3-0 Chiefs at the time. Jackson Cressey and Joey Santucci had the other Express goals.

Trevor Fidler scored twice in the third to punctuate a 7-4 Vernon Vipers comeback win on the road over the West Kelowna Warriors. Liam Blackburn and Michael Buonincontri put the Warriors ahead in the first but LIam Coughlin responded shorthanded for Vernon in the first. The Snakes struck for three in the second with Mackenzie Bauer, Anthony Latina and TJ Dumonceaux doing the damage. Latina sealed the deal late in the third with an empty-net goal.

Josh Adkins scored a pair and Evan Tirones notched four helpers in an 8-1 Alberni Valley Bulldogs road win over the Cowichan Valley Capitals. Adkins, Darian Henry and Troy Dobbs scored in the first with Kyle Horsman getting the lone tally in the second on a power play. Nathan Warren made 24 saves for win.
