Prince George Spruce Kings goaltender Aaron Trotter, West Kelowna Warriors forward Marcus Joughin and Warriors defenceman Isaiah Norlin have been named the BCHL 3 Stars of the Week.

1st Star – Aaron Trotter (G) – Prince George Spruce Kings

Trotter posted his first shutout of the season in his only start last week in a 5-0 road win against the Cranbrook Bucks.

The Victoria, B.C. native made 36 saves in total on Saturday night, including 16 in the second frame, to help his team rebound from a hard-fought 1-0 overtime loss against the Bucks the previous night.

The 20-year-old netminder has now won his last two starts to give him a 9-7-0 record on the year. His shutout performance improves his season-long save percentage to .907 and shrinks his goals-against average to 2.58, which is seventh best in the BCHL.

2nd Star – Marcus Joughin (F) – West Kelowna Warriors

Joughin tied for the BCHL lead in points last week with three in just one game.

The Sacred Heart University commit registered a goal and two assists in Wednesday’s game against the Merritt Centennials. Joughin assisted on the Warriors eventual game-winning goal in the second period, then added a second assist with the man advantage in the third to give his team a 5-2 lead. He capped off the scoring for the Warriors with a late goal of his own to make it an 8-2 final.

Joughin now has 22 assists on the year, which leads the Warriors and puts him in a tie for seventh in the league. He also has 25 points in 27 games, good enough for fifth best on his team.

3rd Star – Isaiah Norlin (D) – West Kelowna Warriors

Norlin scored the first and second goals of his career last Wednesday in his team’s 8-2 defeat of the Merritt Centennials.

The 18-year-old rookie blueliner got the scoring started when his point shot beat the Cents goalie 2:30 into the second period to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead. Norlin carried that momentum into the third period where another point shot found the net late in the frame to score his team’s seventh of the game.

Norlin now has two goals and seven helpers for nine points in 24 games this season.
