Turcotte to play at UNLV

Former Chilliwack Chiefs forward Jared Turcotte has committed to play for the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) Rebels for the upcoming season.

Turcotte played his first two BCHL seasons with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks before moving to Chilliwack and winning an RBC Cup National Championship at the end of the 2017-18 season. The 21-year-old from Moorpark, Calif. finished his BCHL career with 62 points in 161 regular-season games over three seasons.

The Rebels are a club team that play in Division 1 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and finished with a record of 21-9-0 in 2017-18.

Last year’s UNLV team featured former Trail Smoke Eater and West Kelowna Warrior Jonas Gordon, former Salmon Arm Silverback Elijiah Barriga, former Trail Smoke Eater Sheldon Brett and former Prince George Spruce King Matthew Painchaud.
