Vipers kick off BC Children’s Hospital Week

The Vernon Vipers have kicked off the BC Children’s Hospital Fundraising Week with a bang!

On Friday, November 21st, when the Vipers hosted the Merritt Centennials, Vernon was the first of the BCHL's 16 teams to raise money for the BC Children’s Hospital in partnership with Save On Foods.

During the game, Save On Foods was on hand selling hotdogs, pop and popcorn while West Coast Authentics set up tables with silent auction items for fans to bid on and take home that night.

The Vernon Vipers are proud to announce that their total amount raised was over $2700.

“We knew our goal was $1000 but we wanted to go over that,” Vipers Marketing Manager Heidi Schrader said. “The goal for the league is for 16 teams to raise $16,000 and being the first team to raise money we wanted to set the bar high and the BC Children’s Hospital is such a great cause. If all the BCHL teams can collectively donate $16,000 or more then our league has a lot to be proud of.”

The Vernon Vipers would like to thank Save On Foods and their staff for making the event so successful and acknowledge West Coast Authentic for all their help and generosity.

The team would also like to thank its outstanding fans who raised the money and participated in our fundraiser.
