Vipers ready for a night of All-Star action

The Vernon Vipers are getting excited to host the 2009 Save On Foods All-Star Games and Tim Horton's Skills Competition, which will take place during the game's two intermissions, on Wednesday, January 14th.

“The Skills Competition is a very exciting part of the All-Star Event,” Vipers marketing manager  Heidi Schrader said. “Fans get to see the top BCHL players showcase their talent in several different competitions including fastest skater, hardest shot and the break-away relay.”

“This is not your ordinary hockey game, it's the best of the best in our league and your ticket gets you the game and the skills competition so it is definitely an evening of fun, entertaining hockey action.”

Vernon RCMP Red Serge will also be on hand during the Tim Horton's Skills Competition. Not only are they supplying a radar gun for the hardest shot, but they will be on hand to present the awards to the winners of each competition.

“The skills competitions are definitely exciting and fun to watch,” said Vipers assistant coach Jason Williamson, who will be running the intermission event. “It's amazing how much talent is in our league and the skills competition always leaves the fans wanting more.”

Fans from all around the league will enjoy this event as they cheer on their team's division as well as their favourite players that have been named to the event.

Tickets to the 2009 Save On Foods All-Star Game are available through the Vipers Office and you can reserve yours over the phone by calling 250-542-6022.
