Vipers score six unanswered to roll past Quesnel

The Vernon Vipers extended their perfect road record to ten wins and no losses, scoring six unanswered in the second and third periods on Saturday night on their way to a 7-1 road victory over the Quesnel Millionaires.

The teams traded early goals, with Vernon's Drew George and Quesnel's Matthew Herskovitz putting their teams on the board in a span of 2:37 in the first period. Darrin Robak put the Vipers ahead for good at the 14:18 mark, however, and the visitors never looked back.

Jonathan Milhouse and Braden Pimm each scored in the second period, while Rob Short, Mike Collins and Sawyer Mick piled on in the third. Pimm, Collins and Patrick McGillis all ended the night with three points, while a number of Vipers chipped in with two-point evenings.

Graeme Gordon picked up the victory for Vernon, stopping 24 of 25 shots. Luke Siemens made 11 saves for Quesnel before giving way to Michael Smith for the final 15 minutes of the third period.

The Vipers complete their three-game Northern road swing on Sunday with a visit to Williams Lake, while Quesnel awaits a Wednesday visit from the Timberwolves.
