Chilliwack Chiefs forward Kevin Wall has turned his torrid start to his BCHL career into a scholarship as he has committed to the Penn State University Nittany Lions for the 2019-20 season.
Wall currently leads the league in points with 41 as well as goals with 20. Since making his debut with the Chiefs at the start of the year, the Fairport, N.Y. native has at least a point 23 of his 28 games played, including a pair of five-point efforts. He recently had an eight-game point streak where he had 17 points.
Penn State is located in University Park, Pa. and plays in the Big Ten conference along with Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Wisconsin. They are off to a strong start this year, posting a 9-2-0 record through the first few weeks of the season.
Joining Wall next year will be Penticton Vees defenceman Mason Snell who is also committed to the Nittany Lions for 2019-20.
After team captain and former Langley Rivermen forward James Robinson graduated from Penn State last season, the Nittany Lions don’t have any BCHL alums on their current roster.
