Warriors advance to national final

Goals 49 seconds apart in the first period by Jake LeBrun and Connor Sodergren proved to be enough for the West Kelowna Warriors in a 4-1 win over the Brooks Bandits Saturday night in the RBC Cup semifinal.

OFFICIAL BOXSCORE

Ty Mappin had a reply late in the first period but it would be the only puck to get past Matthew Greenfield on the night.

The second period was scoreless and in the third, West Kelowna assumed control with Kyle Marino scoring 3:06 into the final frame. Rylan Yaremko added another on the power play, converting a nice feed from Jake LeBrun.

Greenfield made 33 saves for the win.

West Kelowna will take on the host Lloydminster Bobcats in Sunday’s final. Game time is 3 p.m. Pacific and will be broadcast live nationally on TSN.
