Westside Warriors netminder Nathan Lieuwen finished the job in Slovakia, leading Canada's Under-18 National Team to a gold medal at the Memorial of Ivan Hlinka. Lieuwen won his fourth consecutive tournament games in Canada's 6-3 triumph over Russia.
Lieuwen also picked up wins over Switzerland, Sweden and Slovakia and a pre-tournament victory over the United States.
The 18-year old Abbotsford native led BC Hockey League netminders in goals-against average and save percentage last season, and is set to play a key role for the Western Hockey League's Kootenay Ice in 2009.
