Chilliwack Chiefs forward Jordan Kawaguchi has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 20, the league announced Monday.
Kawaguchi became the Chiefs all-time leader in goals as he racked up six goals and three helpers as the Chiefs went 4-0 for the week. The Abbotsford, B.C. native opened with two goals and an assist in a 7-3 win over Wenatchee where he was 2nd Star and followed that with a 1st Star nod after two more goals and a helper in a 6-2 win over Cowichan Valley. Kawaguchi had a goal and a helper in a 4-0 win in Coquitlam and wrapped his week with the game-winning goal in a 4-1 win over Nanaimo.
The 5-foot-9, 181-pound forward now has 20 goals and 21 assists on the season. His goal Saturday in Coquitlam moved him past former Chilliwack captain Doug Ast into top spot all-time in goalscoring.
