The Vees crushed the Chiefs 5-2

The Penticton Vees' offense had a big night, peppering the Chilliwack Chiefs with 31 shots throughout the game. The Penticton Vees took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Gabe Bast.

Chris Klack did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Grant Cruikshank chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Jordan Kawaguchi contributed with 2 goals and Colin Bernard delivered for his team with 2 assists.

During the first, Rizzo opened the scoring for Penticton with a goal at 3:56 with a helper from his linemate Bowes.

In the second period, Kawaguchi answered for Chilliwack with a goal at 6:48 with helpers from Olischefski and Bernard. Kawaguchi netted a goal at 11:45 with assists from his teammates Arseneau and Bernard. Cruikshank answered for Penticton with a goal at 18:41 with an assist from defenseman Leahy.

In the third period, Bast put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 8:58 with helpers from Klack and Cruikshank. Nash deposited a goal at 11:34 with an assist from Ward. Klack netted a goal at 19:23 with helpers from Mendel and Jones.

The Vees’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Robson as he stopped 17 of the 19 shots he faced. Robson’s counterpart, Sinclair, also had a big night, managing to stop 26 of 30, but ultimately fell short.
