The Vernon Vipers' offense had a big night, peppering the Merritt Centennials with 32 shots throughout the game, to go along with Ty Taylor's shutout. The Vernon Vipers took the lead late in the first on a goal from Niko Karamanis and never looked back.
Niko Karamanis delivered for his team with 2 goals and Keyvan Mokhtari did his part, adding 2 assists.
During the first, Karamanis opened the scoring for Vernon with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 17:21 with helpers from teammates Judson and Mokhtari.
In the third period, Karamanis deposited a goal at 16:01 with assists from Young and Mokhtari.
The Vipers’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Taylor’s shutout, as he stopped all 29 of the shots he faced. Taylor’s counterpart, Berger, also had a big night, managing to stop 30 of 32, but ultimately fell short.
