Former Vernon Vipers standout forward Mike Collins has been named the Hockey East conference's player of the week for his performance last weekend with Merrimack College.
The Boston product was in on each goal, assisting on the game-winner, as Merrimack defeated New Hampshire Friday.
Collins' three-point night gives him 30 points on the season which includes 13 goals. He is currently tied for 11th in NCAA Division I scoring.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound forward played two seasons in the BCHL with the Vernon Vipers and won two RBC Cup national championships. In 119 career games, Collins scored 55 goals and 71 assists for 126 points.
