In their initial list of players to watch ahead of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Central Scouting has included seven current BCHL players among 16 overall from the CJHL.

The entire list has yet to pop up online, but check NHL.com in the days to come for details.

Central Scouting grades draft prospects as A (first-round candidate), B (second- or third-round candidate), or C (fourth-, fifth- or sixth-round candidate).

The BCHL players listed were rated as follows:

Alex Newhook, Forward, Victoria Grizzlies (NCAA commitment to Boston College)

B
Layton Ahac, Defence, Prince George Spruce Kings (NCAA commitment to Ohio State)
Massimo Rizzo, Forward, Penticton Vees (NCAA commitment to North Dakota)

C
Harrison Blaisdell, Forward, Chilliwack ChiefsĀ (NCAA commitment to North Dakota)
Alex Campbell, Forward, Victoria Grizzlies (NCAA commitment to Clarkson)
Ethan Leyh, Forward, Langley Rivermen (NCAA commitment to Wisconsin)
Alex Swetlikoff, Forward, Vernon Vipers (NCAA commitment to Denver)

BCHL graduate Brendan Budy, a former standout with the Langley Rivermen who is now in his freshman season at the University of Denver, was listed as a C-level prospect by Central Scouting.

From the remainder of the CJHL, the Ontario Junior Hockey League had four players listed while the Alberta and Saskatchewan Junior leagues had two each. The Central Canada Hockey League had one player rated.

The 2019 NHL Entry Draft will be held June 21 and 22 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
