The British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) and HEADCHECK Health (HEADCHECK) are thrilled to announce the extension of their successful long-standing partnership to add Enhanced Care concussion services for all BCHL players.

Under the guidance of the league’s new Sports Medicine Physician Dr. Tin Jasinovic, HEADCHECK will collaborate with team medical resources to provide standardized return-to-play management and medical clearance oversight for all concussed athletes. If an athlete experiences an atypical recovery pattern, they will also have direct referrals to specialized medical help such as neurologists and vestibular therapists, if necessary.

“Player safety has always been a top priority for the BCHL, and our partnership with HEADCHECK Health has been instrumental in advancing our concussion care initiatives,” said Steven Cocker, Commissioner of the BCHL. “By extending this partnership, we are reinforcing our commitment to providing the highest level of care and support to our athletes.”

Since 2017, the BCHL has used HEADCHECK’s industry-leading concussion app and web platform to effectively implement, oversee, and evaluate their concussion protocol.

“The extended collaboration demonstrates a commitment to prioritizing player safety and implementing cutting-edge technology in concussion management,” said Harrison Brown, CEO of HEADCHECK Health. “The BCHL has been a leader in concussion safety and continues to go above and beyond for their players.”
