BCHL and Vancouver Canucks Alumni announce six scholarship winners for 2024-25

The BCHL and the Vancouver Canucks Alumni have announced six winners for the BCHL Canucks Alumni Scholarship Program for the 2024-25 season.

The program, which has been in place since 1987, is designed to provide former BCHL players with scholarship funds as they continue their academic and hockey careers.

The recipients of the scholarships are determined by a selection committee from the BCHL, based on the individual’s academics, hockey and community service.

This year’s winners are:

Connor Elliott – Hobart College (Prince George, Cowichan Valley, Vernon)
Jordan Fairlie – University of Toronto (Prince George Spruce Kings)
Luca Grabas – Simon Fraser University (Chilliwack, Nanaimo)
Logan Holm – York University (Alberni Valley Bulldogs)
Keeton Oakley – York University (Coquitlam, Langley)
Noah Quinn – Bemidji State University (Cranbrook Bucks)

“The BCHL would like to congratulate this year’s deserving recipients of our Canucks Alumni Scholarship,” said BCHL Commissioner Steven Cocker. “Education continues to be a key focus of our league and this program is a prime example of how we can aid in our alumni’s continued academic journey. We would also like to thank the Vancouver Canucks Alumni for once again supporting this initiative.”

This year’s winners will each receive $2,500 in scholarship funds to go toward their education.

“The Vancouver Canucks Alumni continue to be proud of their long-standing relationship with the BC Hockey League,” said Canucks Alumni Scholarship Chair John Grisdale. “Once again, we extend our congratulations to this year’s scholarship recipients and wish them all the very best in their future academic and athletic endeavours.”
