BCHL Officiating Milestones: Year in Review

2024 was a strong year for BCHL players, but it was a banner year for the league’s on-ice officials as well.

Several officials accomplished milestones such as working in the American Hockey League (AHL), the ECHL and Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) and international tournaments, as well as attending NHL combines and rookie camps.

“It has been a big year for our officials in the BCHL,” said Brad Lazarowich, Vice President of Hockey Operations and head of the league’s officiating department. “We have had many officials move on to the AHL, ECHL, PWHL and attend top-end camps and tournaments, which really shows the strength of our officiating development path in the BCHL.”

“Our continued partnership with Junior Prospects Hockey League (JPHL) officials and the addition of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) officials has added depth and a great group of promising officials to our roster.”
