The BC Hockey League has announced a partnership with Drive Hockey Analytics for the league’s Top Prospects Game on Jan. 20 at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton, B.C.

Drive Hockey Analytics makes pro-level analytics accessible to all levels of hockey through its innovative tracking system, allowing for deep insights into player and team performance.

BCHL players participating in the Top Prospects Game will be equipped with small, powerful sensors, which will allow unique performance data to be captured at a rate of over 3,000 data points per second.

“We are excited to partner with Drive Hockey Analytics for the league’s Top Prospects Game,” said BCHL Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Commissioner Steven Cocker. “This will be one of many unique additions to enhance the event experience for our players, fans and scouts in attendance.”

Coaches, players, scouts and media will be able to review player and team level data across a variety of athletics, game play and tactical metrics.

“Drive Hockey is excited for the opportunity to display our pro-level tracking technology at the BCHL Top Prospects Game,” said Adam Nathwani, Chief Operating Officer at Drive Hockey Analytics. “Major investments in tracking technology have been made at the NHL level, but this capability was inaccessible for amateurs until now. Our sensor-based analytics system is helping amateur athletes and teams perform their best by providing unmatched athlete and game intelligence to fast-track player development. The BCHL is one of the top development leagues with a focus on innovation and we are thrilled to partner with them in support of their focus towards Modern Hockey.”

The BCHL’s 60th Anniversary event also includes an outdoor All-Star Weekend with a 3-on-3 tournament, skills competition, alumni game and much more.
