The BCHL and Save-On-Foods are proud to once again recognize billet families from across the league for going the extra mile to support BCHL players off the ice with the Billet Families of the Month award.
Throughout the season, the league will recognize one billet family from each team and the outstanding work they do to support junior hockey in their community.
Save-On-Foods will donate a $100 grocery gift card card to each of the families honoured as BCHL Billet Families of the Month.
With so many fantastic billet families across the league, the BCHL and Save-On-Foods could not be happier to recognize just a few of these great people in our communities.
This month, we recognize billets from the Surrey Eagles, Trail Smoke Eaters and Vernon Vipers.
Family: Mike & Erin Addy
Billets since: 2016
Current billeted players: Logan Lorenz & Ross Roloson
“Being a billet family has been one of the most rewarding experiences we have ever had. Logan and Ross are the 11th and 12th players to stay with us in our many years of welcoming junior hockey players into our home. We have had players live with us for as little as two weeks and as long as three full seasons, but regardless of the length of their stay, the memories made are a priceless gift.”

Trail Smoke Eaters
Family: Sam & Trevor Fennell
Billets since: 2018
Current billeted players: Evan Bushy & Teagan Kendrick
“We took in our first player in 2018 and honestly haven’t given it a second thought. We now have two players a season with us and it just adds to the fun and excitement of the season. It’s a small way to give back to the community and also give these boys a home away from home. To watch these players grow as people and athletes has been an amazing part of the billeting journey. Once they step through our door, they become family forever!”
-Sam & Trevor Fennell
Family: Cathy & Paul Davies
Billets since: 2017
Current billeted players: Julian Facchinelli & Jonathan Horn
“Little did we know when we first became billet parents, what an incredible impact all of our billets would have on us. The relationships that you form with your billet and with their families are lifelong. Our goal has always been that each player leaves our house at the end of their junior career feeling they have had the best experience possible. Being able to provide a comfortable living environment, endless food supply and emotional support to these boys while living away from their own homes is extremely important to us. We also hope that we can give their parents some peace of mind that their child is being well cared for.”
