Nanaimo Clippers forward Josh Bourne has been named the Subway BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Mar. 1.
The Clippers’ regular-season leading scorer is on fire to start the Shaw BCHL Playoffs as he’s tallied eight points over his team’s first two games to lead all players in scoring.
In Game 1 of Nanaimo’s opening-round series against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs on Friday, the 20-year-old forward contributed a pair of goals, including the game-winner, and also added an assist as his team skated to a 6-3 victory. He was named the game’s second star.
The following night, Bourne had a five-point night, scoring once and adding four helpers and was named first star as the Clippers beat the Bulldogs 6-3 for the second night in a row.
Bourne has three goals and five assists through his first two games of the postseason.
