Five BCHLers selected to Prospects Game

A total of five British Columbia Hockey League players will be showcasing their skills in front of professional and college scouts at the 2008 Canadian Junior Hockey League Prospects Game, the CJHL announced Tuesday.

A trio of forwards are leading the BCHL contingent, including Spencer Bennett (Surrey Eagles), Zac Ashdown (Nanaimo Clippers) and Curtis McKenzie (Penticton Vees).

Joining them will be Prince George Spruce Kings defenceman Wes McLeod and Victoria Grizzlies netminder Alexandre Peck.

The game, which is set for Wednesday, December 17th in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, will be preceeded a night earlier by a skills competition. A total of 40 of Canada's top Junior A players will be in attendance for the two-day showcase, which will be one of the most highly scouted events prior to next June's NHL Entry Draft.

The BC Hockey League would like to congratulate the five players selected to play at the 2008 CJHL Prospects Game for this notable achievement.
