Greenfield’s RBC showing earns him POW nod

West Kelowna Warriors goalie Matthew Greenfield has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the Week ending May 22, the league announced Tuesday.

Greenfield made a triumphant return to the Warriors’ crease after missing the first three games of the RBC Cup with injury. The native of Parkland, Fla. won all three games he played, backstopping the Warriors to the RBC Cup national title.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound netminder stopped a phenomenal 100 of 102 shots in the three starts he made, good for a .980 save percentage and a 0.67 goals-against average. He capped his week with a 48-save shutout in the national final, a 4-0 blanking of the Lloydminster Bobcats.

Honourable mentions this week:

Warriors F Jonathan Desbiens: 3G, 1A, two GWGs

Warriors D Rylan Yaremko: 2G, 1A

Warriors F Garrett Forster: 4A
