The BCHL and the Vancouver Canucks Alumni have announced six winners for the BCHL Canucks Alumni Scholarship Program for the 2025-26 season.
The program, which has been in place since 1987, is designed to provide former BCHL players with scholarship funds as they continue their academic and hockey careers.
The recipients of the scholarships are determined by a selection committee from the BCHL, based on the individual’s academics, hockey career, community service and time spent in the BCHL.
This year’s winners are:
“The BCHL would like to congratulate all of the recipient of this year’s BCHL Canucks Alumni Scholarship,” said league Commissioner Steven Cocker. “With their academic accomplishments and elite skills on the ice, these six athletes exemplify what the BCHL is all about. We love to see our alumni go on to success after leaving our league and this scholarship is just another way we can support them.”
“We would also like to thank the Vancouver Canucks Alumni for their support of this initiative going back nearly 40 years.”
This year’s winners will each receive $2,500 in scholarship funds to go toward their education.
“The Vancouver Canucks Alumni are not only proud of our long-standing relationship with the BCHL, but equally proud that this program has made a difference for those players who pursued post secondary education” said John Grisdale, Canucks Alumni Scholarship Chair. “Since we began our program with the BCHL, we have provided $589,000 in scholarship funds. As always, we applaud this year’s scholarship recipients and look forward to learning of their future academic and athletic endeavours.”
