Powell River Kings defenceman Jayden Lee is the latest player to commit to Quinnipiac University, which continues to be a hotbed for BCHL grads at the NCAA level.
Lee, who will join the Bobcats for the 2020-21 season, is in the midst of his second year in the BCHL after playing last year with the Langley Rivermen. This year, the 5-foot-9, 150-pound dman from North Vancouver has six points in 17 games.
Lee becomes the eighth current BCHL player with a commitment to Quinnipiac, joining his teammate Matt Fawcett, Austin Spiridakis of the Alberni Valley Bulldogs, Skyler Brind’Amour of the Chilliwack Chiefs, Corey Clifton of the Surrey Eagles, Tyler Ghirardosi of the Trail Smoke Eaters, PJ Fletcher of the Wenatchee Wild and Wyatt Head of the West Kelowna Warriors.
This year’s Bobcats roster features 11 BCHL grads, including Scott Davidson, Craig Martin, Chase Priskie, Luke Shiplo, Nick Jermain, Andrew Shortridge, Odeen Tufto, Desi Burgart, Ethan de Jong, TJ Friedman and Michael Lombardi.
Quinnipiac has gotten off to a hot start this year with five straight wins, outscoring their opponents by a total of 21-7.
