Watching the Hockey Game at the Office, eh?

(Moose Jaw) Canadian employers may be the first to ban watching Hockey at the office if internet webcasting company LiveGlobalSports has it’s way. LiveGlobalSports will be the first company to ever webcast a Hockey game with live video audio and in `real time’ over the internet on Monday when the Jr. A National Royal Bank Cup is webcast from Grande Prairie Alberta.

“If this had been available in 1973 for the Canada/Russia series the whole country would have shut down, we’re Canadian eh” said LiveGlobalSports spokesman Craig Dutton. “We think this `WebHockey’ internet webcast will be as historic as the very first TV broadcast of hockey” he added.

Dutton says the good news for fans is that the LiveGlobalSports internet viewer allows games to be watched in a small window or full screen. The viewer also allows up to four times zoom-in for close plays and replays. “The initial broadcasts will be free so we invite hockey fans, scouts and Jr. A fans around the world to take a look” he added.

Hockey fans nation wide and world wide will be able to watch two Hockey Canada Jr. A Royal Bank Cup Championship round robin games Monday May 10 at 2 pm and 7 pm central time through Hockey Canada’s website www.hockeycanada.ca.

The WebHockey will be produced and webcast by LiveGlobalSports Inc. a Moose Jaw based joint venture, with the permission and co-operation of Hockey Canada and the tournament committee. The software and internet system that will be used was designed in Moose Jaw by LiveGlobalBid.com.

Jr. A hockey fans will be able to watch games between Kindersley and Nepean at 2 pm Monday and between Aurora and Nanaimo at 7 pm free of charge on the internet. Free downloads of the LiveGlobalSports viewer are available in advance at http://www.liveglobalbid.com/downloadlgb.cgi
