(Powell River) – The Powell River Kings Hockey Club Society would like to congratulate Marketing and Promotions Manager Lisa Porter who, after 3 full seasons with the Kings, has decided to pursue a new career opportunity.
Lisa joined the Kings organization straight out of the Events and Conventions Management program at the University College of the Cariboo.
Over Lisa’s 3 years as Marketing and Promotions Manager attendance at Kings games and corporate sponsorships have increased by more than 50%. Lisa brings a bright, positive attitude and excellent work ethic and always accepts every challenge as an opportunity for growth. These qualities have been noticed in our community and have led to a new opportunity for Lisa.
Said society president Doug McCormick “This is what our organization is all about, developing young players, coaches and staff and preparing them to move forward. We are pleased to see anyone from our organization successful in pursuit of their goals. Lisa has made the most of her opportunity with the Kings and she is very deserving of her newest opportunity.”
Porter would like to thank the Kings Board of Directors for allowing her the opportunity to begin her professional career with the Kings and in a great community such as Powell River.
“The Board of Directors are the strength of the Kings organization and their support over the last three seasons has made it a pleasure to work here and has prepared me to succeed in the business world. In particular I would like to thank Doug McCormick for his support and guidance, without which I don’t believe I would have been presented with this opportunity. I would also like to thank the Kings corporate sponsors, staff, volunteers, fans and the community as a whole for their support. They have not only made me feel welcome, but they have made me feel at home here in Powell River, and I look forward to many more years of enjoying this community.”
“I wish the best for the continued success of the Powell River Kings Organization, and look forward to becoming a 2006-2007 Season Ticket holder.” Adds Porter.
The Kings Hockey Club Society is proud that we were able to attract Lisa to our community and we are pleased that she will be remaining in Powell River.
We wish Lisa all the best and hope she will continue to be a part of the Kings family in the future.
After being notified of Lisa Porter's departure, BCHL Commissioner John Girsdale wanted to add, “While the BCHL office and league marketers are sorry to see Lisa move on, we are cognisant and appriciative of all that she has done to improve not only the Kings but the entire league.” “Lisa will be missed but I know she would be ready to assit us in any manner when the time comes,” added Grisdale.
