Chilliwack Chiefs forward Brady Milburn, Cowichan Valley Capitals forward Gavin Giesbrecht and West Kelowna Warriors forward Elias Callgren have been named the NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week.

1st Star – Brady Milburn (F) – Chilliwack Chiefs

Milburn tied for the league lead in both points and goals last week, piling up three goals and five points in a pair of Chiefs wins to kick off their first-round series with the Prince George Spruce Kings.

On Friday, the University of Denver commit scored two power-play goals in the first period of Game 1 and was named first star in a 3-2 Chilliwack win. The next night, Milburn scored the eventual game-winning goal, again with the man advantage, in a 4-2 victory. He added two assists and was named the game’s first star once again.

Milburn and the Chiefs now head to Prince George for Games 3 and 4, starting Tuesday.

2nd Star – Gavin Giesbrecht (F) – Cowichan Valley Capitals

Giesbrecht tied for the league lead in goals over the weekend with three, adding an assist to total four points in back-to-back Capitals overtime wins.

With Cowichan Valley down 3-1 at the first intermission in Friday’s Game 1 against the Nanaimo Clippers, Giesbrecht sparked the comeback with two of his team’s three goals in the middle frame, then assisted on the overtime winner in a 5-4 victory. He was named first star of the game. On Saturday, the third-year BCHL veteran scored an early power-play goal in the Capitals 4-3 win in extra time.

Cowichan Valley takes their 2-0 series lead on the road as the series continues Tuesday with Game 3 in Nanaimo.

3rd Star – Elias Callgren (F) – West Kelowna Warriors

Callgren averaged two points per game last weekend, with two goals and two assists as West Kelowna split the first two games of their Round 1 matchup against the Brooks Bandits.

The Warriors stormed into Brooks as the number-seven seed and jumped out to a 4-0 lead in Game 1, thanks in large part to Callgren and his two-goal, one-assist second period. His team would hold on for a 4-2 victory and he was named the game’s first star. On Saturday, the 21-year-old Swedish forward chipped in an assist in an 8-2 defeat.

With the series even at 1-1, the scene shifts to West Kelowna for Games 3 and 4 on Tuesday and Wednesday.
