Penticton Vees forwards Josh and Bradly Nadeau and West Kelowna Warriors forward Christopher Duclair have been named the NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week.
1st Star – Josh Nadeau (F) – Penticton Vees
Nadeau was a goal-scoring machine last week, lighting the lamp seven times in just three games. He added a pair of assists to finish with nine points.
The University of Maine commit started his week with a one-goal, two-assist performance on Family Day last Monday in a 5-1 home victory over the Cranbrook Bucks. All three of Nadeau’s points came with the man advantage and were all recorded during the second period.
On Friday, the Vees were back at the South Okanagan Events Centre, where the 19-year-old put forth the best goal-scoring performance of his BCHL career, scoring four times in a 6-2 win against the Wenatchee Wild. Nadeau recorded a natural hat trick in less than eight minutes in the middle frame, scoring Penticton’s first three goals to help them jump out to a 3-0 lead. He would go on to score his fourth midway through the third period to cap off the scoring. He was named first star of the game.
Nadeau finished out his week with another multi-goal effort, this time scoring twice in the third period of the Vees 4-1 road triumph over the Prince George Spruce Kings.
The elder Nadeau brother now has points in six straight games with nine goals and seven assists over that stretch. He ranks second in the BCHL with 86 points in 45 games and is also second in goals with 35 and assists with 53.
2nd Star – Bradly Nadeau (F) – Penticton Vees
Bradly Nadeau had two goals and eight assists for 10 points in three games to lead the BCHL in points and assists over the past week.
The 17-year-old scored his two goals last Monday in Penticton’s 5-1 win over the Cranbrook Bucks. Both markers came on the power play and were scored less than two minutes apart in the second period. He also added an assist on his brother Josh’s goal earlier in the period to finish with a three-point night. He was named first star of the game.
On Friday, his brother scored four goals in a 6-2 win against the Wenatchee Wild and Bradly earned the primary assist on all four tallies, all coming at even strength.
The Vees were on the road to play the Prince George Spruce Kings on Saturday and the University of Maine commit kept up his high-scoring pace with a trio of assists in his team’s 4-1 victory.
Nadeau is riding a six-game point streak with three goals and 12 assists over that stretch. He is the league leader in points with 89 in 45 games, as well as the top goal scorer with 35 and the BCHL assist leader with 54.
3rd Star – Christopher Duclair (F) – West Kelowna Warriors
Duclair posted four goals and three assists for seven points in three games last week, leading the Warriors to a trio of victories.
The 20-year-old from Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Que. turned in a goal and two assists last Monday in the Warriors 9-1 win at home over the Merritt Centennials. His first-period tally with the man advantage capped off a five-goal opening frame for West Kelowna in a game they led 5-1 at the first intermission.
On Friday, Duclair found the back of the net again, this time for his first shorthanded goal of the campaign, which gave the Warriors an early 2-0 lead in a game they would eventually win 6-5 in overtime against the Trail Smoke Eaters.
The Rochester Institute of Technology commit finished his week with a second three-point performance on Sunday, notching two goals and a helper in a rematch against the Centennials, which West Kelowna won 7-1. He bookended the scoring in the game, getting the icebreaker 2:25 into the contest and capping things off with a third period goal, his 11th on the year.
