In this week’s NCAA Roundup, we check in on four BCHL alumni who earned weekly conference awards this week.
ECAC Hockey Forward of the Week
Hayden Stavroff – Sophomore – Dartmouth College (Salmon Arm/Alberni Valley)
Last weekend, Stavroff helped the Big Green stay perfect on the season (10-0-0). Friday night, he found the back of the net four times and tallied an assist for five points as Dartmouth beat Brown 7-3. The next day, he stayed hot, scoring two goals, including the game-winner and a power play marker, in a 6-1 win over Yale. He also tallied two assists to finish the week with nine points in just two games.
Stavroff played two seasons in the BCHL from 2022 to 2024, the first with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks and the second with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. He enjoyed a breakout season in his year with the Bulldogs, leading the BCHL with 35 goals on the season and finishing tied for seventh in league scoring with 55 points in 46 games.
NCHC Goaltender of the Week
Quentin Miller – Freshman – University of Denver (Chilliwack Chiefs)
Miller backstopped Denver to a sweep over Miami over the weekend, allowing only two goals all series, while starting his 13th and 14th straight games in net for the Pioneers. In Friday’s opener, he recorded his third shutout of the season and first in NCHC play, stopping all 22 shots he faced in a 4-0 victory. The next night, Miller made 22 more saves in a 5-2 win to finish the sweep.
The Montreal, Que. native played the 2024-25 campaign with the Chilliwack Chiefs where he played 10 regular season games down the stretch after returning from injury, posting a .923 save percentage, 2.29 goals-against average and an 8-2-0 record. In the playoffs, he was strong as well, going 14-9-0 with a .925 save rate, guiding the Chiefs to the championship series.
Atlantic Hockey Forward of the Week
Jack Ivey – Sophomore – Army West Point (Wenatchee Wild)
Ivey grabbed his second-career weekly award and first of 2025-26 after leading the conference last week with four points (one goal, three assists) through two games played. The San Diego, Calif. native helped the Black Knights go undefeated in their two-game series at Sacred Heart. The sophomore tallied two points in both contests and has points in three straight games.
Ivey played one BCHL season with the Wenatchee Wild in 2021-22, alongside his twin brother Benjamin, who also plays for Army. Jack collected eight points in 47 games during his lone season in the league.
Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week
Danick Leroux (G) – Freshman – College of the Holy Cross (Cranbrook Bucks)
Among Atlantic Hockey goaltenders last week with a minimum of 33 per cent of team minutes played, Leroux’s 1.00 goals-against average led the conference, and his .944 save percentage was the second-highest. The Candiac, Que. native’s lone game last week was a 4-1 win over Mercyhurst on Saturday where he made 17 saves.
Leroux played 15 games with the Cranbrook Bucks during the 2023-24 campaign, posting a 6-4-1 record with an .893 save percentage.
